The selection and is excellent and the variety for those seeking special dietary needs is superb. 50 years in business is a testament to the quality of this establishment Also the deserts are simply amazing ! You will not be disappointed because there is something good for any and everybody's body!
Claire’s has been a staple cozy vegetarian/vegan cafe in the heart of Yale campus! It’s been open since the 70’s & while in the area I had to visit! Adorable vibe & decor. There was a massive line which took a bit longer than planned but I waited it out to try their vegan desserts. Well worth the line! They have a unique set up where everyone (take out, coffee orders, sit down dining) all order at the front- which may of been part of the line build up. Totally worth it however! Just come preparing for a decent wait at this popular cafe. Their desserts are beautiful! Perfectly set up & organized by a vegan side & dairy side. Everything is clearly labeled. Love that. I got the vegan pumpkin whoopee pie to go & it was SO good! Super moist, thick, dense. Perfect pumpkin flavor completed with sweet vegan frosting. 😍 I heard so many amazing things about their vegan desserts & I get the hype! I am sure their actual food is wonderful. Everything I saw at folks tables looked just as delicious as the baked goods but I only had time for a snack to go!
The selection is amazing and the servers are SO sweet!!! Super quick service, clean. I got the carrot cake wich was HUGE and delic, with big chunks of nuts. Great smoothie assortment at we got the blueberry banana.
İ like the place. And ı like the variety of the food. Cant belive there is artichoke stuffed! I wish i can try artichoke, lazagna a few more things… The omlette was huge! I only didn’t like one thing is; they didn’t bring our meals at the same time. When i had half of my omlette the other order arrive.
A really fun corner café with excellent vegan and vegetarian options. The entire café is vegetarian, and almost everything can be modified to be vegan. A good portion of the menu is vegan already. They also have clearly marked vegan baked goods in their own section. Everything tastes delicious, the grande burrito I got could feed an entire house! The staff was extremely courteous and the owner was present and happy to see every customer. I would highly recommend this place to any vegan or vegetarian visiting New Haven.
I am a local and native of New Haven, CT, I walk past Claire’s all the time and for the first time I finally tried it. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The quality of the food and portion size is fantastic. They use the freshest ingredients and they make their food with pure LOVE!!! The staff was so friendly to me. I love how they call you by name while bringing you your food. I felt like family. The food and service was so good, I keep coming back. They also have a plethora of Vegan, Gluten free, & Vegetarian options which I appreciate. Thank you! I am a new recurring customer and this is officially one of my favorite restaurants in downtown New Haven!!! Highly recommend !!!
This was my first time here as a vegetable and it's such an amazing feeling looking at a menu where all the food is "safe". Everything is also clearly labeled for vegans and gluten free people!
Anytime we visit family in New Haven area, we make a point of having lunch at Claire's, especially after a night of pizza! Order at the counter, bus your table. Food is fabulous and healthy, portions are large. Tip - salads and soups come with a small loaf of bread, you can ask to leave it off your order. I didn't try and substitute, just didn't want it because the salad is large and has croutons. You can get a to-go box for leftovers. Tea selection was good and water was hot.
Had dinner during visit to Yale. Loved that the restaurant has lots of vegetarian choices. Lots of pizza, pasta and salad options. Made fresh . Friendly staff. Lovely decor and ambiance.
